'We missed that for a while': Bruno welcomes Ten Hag's focus on discipline

"I think we missed that for a while, and I think, for me, the way I see discipline is important," Bruno Fernandes told ESPN when asked about Erik ten Hag's strict regime at Man United.

"For me, discipline is not only the way you play on the pitch, the position that you have, what you have to do, it's also off the pitch -- don't be late for the meetings, don't be late for the meals.

"I think that's really important because if everyone is on time and someone comes late, he should be punished and I think that's really good that he's doing that and for me amazing, because I like to be on time, so I won't have problems with that."

Bruno's words could be a dig at Ralf Rangnick or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. For years, discipline on and off the pitch was rumoured to be a problem - and that's something the new boss felt the need to address from the start.

A few weeks ago, it was reported that Ten Hag set a few rules for his players. The list includes being on time for team meetings and training, the same team meal for all the players and, ironically enough, leaking information to the press.
